What Questions You Must Ask Your Security Camera Installer?

When it comes to your security camera system, people are still ignorant and away from information, and hence it is very much important to have a well-informed, experienced security camera installer. While every task and assignment is different for a camera installer there are some basic questions which you should ask as a customer. Her we have discussed four basic questions you must ask your cameras installer before you sign the agreement.
What type of hard drives you have been using?
Hard drives are the storage tools where all the recordings and data are saved. They directly make changes to the life span and performance of your cctv camera setup. No matter how advanced and expensive cameras you use poor quality hard drives will its longevity short.
For surveillance recording, you must use surveillance grade hard drives or better. While there are uncountable types of hard drives that are on sale in the market ask your installer to install the correct hard drives for your project to get the best out of it.
The consequences of using nonstandard hard drives can cost you losing important footage and evidence.
How will you weatherproof our connections?
Weatherproofing your camera connections is very much important and vital for your business as you would have a significant amount of money in it. You have to ask and understand the weatherproofing precautions your installer is using and what happens if they fail.
The IP rating of your cameras classifies the degree of protection offered by the camera's housing. If the camera setup is entirely inside the house, then it doesn't need a high IP rating. In case it is exposed to harsh weather it needs a higher IP rating.
In addition to the above points, your weatherproofing measures used by your installer have to have at least an IP66 rating. Your installer should take the whole responsibilities of the weatherproofing as the damages will not be covered by the camera's manufacturer warranty.
What type of cable do you use?
Just like a bridge collapse can fail the entire length of the road a poor quality of cables can experience failure faster than you'd imagine.
If your installer is unable to say what kind of cables they are using most probably they are using the CCA cables. CCA stands for Copper Coated Aluminum Cables and they are the money saver for your installer. But in the long run, you may have to pay more than you would have saved. You should ask your installer to use copper cables only which are better than the previous.
Is there any monthly fee required?
Some deals may sound good but when you dig a little into it you will found many loopholes in it. It is very much important to read your agreement paper, understand all the terms and conditions and all the money you have to pay them before you sign on the dotted lines.
Many installers hold the cctv surveillance system hostage requiring you to sign up for a long term contract that includes a monthly bill. When your contract ends or you opt-out of the monthly bill you lost access to live viewing options and many more such features. Make sure that once you pay them money you get all the access with no time-bound.
